We all want to live a healthy and tranquil life. However, our unhealthy approaches oppose us to achieve what we want. Diabetes is one of the consequences of our unhealthy approaches. About 422 million people worldwide have diabetes and 1.5 million deaths are directly attributed to diabetes every year this is the data which Google shows us but these data are not 100% accurate. The figures are even more than that and the problem is very serious.
What is diabetes?
“Diabetes is a chronic disease that occur ether when pancreas does not produce enough insulin or when the body cannot effectively use the insulin it produce.” This is the simple definition. in the above definition there are two terms pancreas and insulin. Pancreas is a gland in our body which produces a hormone called insulin. The function of insulin is to move the glucose (sugar) from our bloodstream into body’s cell to make energy.
How do we become diabetic?
When we eat food it gets breakdown into glucose (sugar). As sugar enter into the bloodstream pancreas produce insulin to move sugar in our body’s cells to provide energy. Generally, insulin work as a key which open up the door of our cell and let the sugar to enter. This is how our body works. However, when we eat a lot of processed food, necked carbohydrate and more sugary food it get digests quickly and cause blood sugar to spike. The more sugar enters in our bloodstream the more, pancreas produce insulin, which, over time, can leads to insulin resistance (condition when our cells do not respond well to insulin). When cells stop responding to insulin, sugar stays in our bloodstream. This is how we became diabetic.

Types of diabetes
There are generally three types They are:
1). Type 1 diabetes: pancreas doesn’t produce sufficient insulin for glucose regulation.
2). Gestational diabetes: gestational diabetes is also called diabetes while pregnancy because in gestational diabetes body is not able to produce insulin for glucose regulation during pregnancy.
3). Type 2 diabetes: in type 2 diabetes there are primarily two types of problem. The pancreas doesn’t produce enough insulin and cell respond poorly to insulin and take in less sugar.
Cause of diabetes.
There are many cause but some common causes are listed below:
Overweight: excess body fat can cause insulin resistance. Fatty tissue may cause inflammation that leads to insulin resistance. But it doesn’t mean that people having overweight are diabetic.
Physical inactivity: not being physically active can increase the risk of type 2 diabetes. Research shows that involving in any kind of physical activity reduces its risk.
Unhealthy Diet: diet is a key factor which causes type 2 diabetes. People are knowingly and unknowingly adopting unhealthy diet. Excessive consumption of processed food, food having more salt and sugar, oily food must be avoided in order to attend a healthy and tranquil life.
